I purchased three pair new at a local national outdoor retailer in Jan 2017. They were worn skiing, and to tailgate/attend NFL games, each pair getting about 4-5 'wears' ranging from 6-10 hours per use. The wool on the bottom has worn through and developed holes already on balls of the feet (both L & R), and the wool on the shin/calf area has disintegrated leaving holes in the upper leg portion. perhaps I got a bad run of socks, but my last few pairs of the PhD Mediums lasted me 4+years of rigorous use. Even my 3yr old Smartwool Heavy hiking socks look new compared to these.

Had to return these because the fabric arrived snagged. It's the third pair of socks we received like this. I don't understand why it keeps happening.

Too thin for my Minnesota Nordic skiing but I have a thicker pair that are perfect. Just need to figure out how thick they are before buying another set.

I wore once and followed the warm water wash directions. Yarn was fraying mid-leg after one 30 min laundering.

Working in the woods

I purchased these ski socks to replace my old socks. My old socks were creeping down my leg as the day went on, creating hot spots in my boots. The new socks stay in place and are also very cozy. Thank you Smartwool!
