The New Tech Shirt
Have been looking forward to trying this new guy out as I am a UA tech T junkie. So here's a quick take on the good, the bad and the whatever.
First, this shirt is more fitted. It's actually flirting with no longer being called loose. The abdominal area which is usually a loose mess in American clothes has been reigned in and its close to the stomach now. It doesn't feel tight, but if you are used to the old ones and have a belly, you're probably not going to find these as comfortable. The shirt actually feels like it has some Elastane in it (like it used to) but the tag still says 100% polyester. I think its an improvement in the fit, but this is a big departure from the traditional fit of the tech line. They've always been forgiving in the stomach area but no longer. I feel ever so slightly compressed in the chest and stomach with this on.
See the photos I've attached. Look at the way it's fitted enough that it doesn't hide my belt at all because its more form fitting.
For reference, I'm about 190 lb and 6' right now with a 32 waist and 44 chest and thats a medium.
My shirt was made in Mexico so I can only speak for those (anyone whose worn tech shirts know some countries fit way different than others - yeah, that's right, I'm looking at you Honduras) but one problem the old shirts had on some colors was the fit around the arm pits. It typically pinched under the armpits and then had a slightly uncomfortable stretch across the shoulder blades as it was just not cut right. God I have purchased so many white techs trying to get one that fits right and I have yet to find one. It's fixed in the 2 shirts I've tried so far. That's great ... way overdue.
A downside: the fabric seems somehow even thinner than the last round of techs which was even thinner than the round before that. I mean at one point these actually felt like fabric but this new one FEELS more plastic, like spandex (but its not) I've got a royal blue on right now and I can see all my tattoos. The white one I've got is positively sheer and frankly I think it'd make a great undershirt but it's a bit thin for a T. It's a better work out shirt because of this. Overall it's definitely a much better workout shirt and less a casual T you could just throw on outside the gym.
I really should have washed this first to see how it holds up. I'm thinking it will stretch out some, more of my UA gear does after a wash, then you lose that tighter fit. Also, I'd really love to see if it pills. Lately my UA stuff is just atrocious and after 3 washes looks like I stole it from a tag sale. I'm not sure if this fabric will because it's got that sheerness to it I was talking about.
Overall, its probably an improvement to the shirt if you want to wear it in the gym or you like a more fitted T. If you were squeezing into whatever size you wore in the last generation, size up.

Different than the Tech shirts form just a couple of weeks ago
Just a few weeks ago, I purchased several of the Tech shirts. I loved them. I go back this week to buy more, and they have changed yet again. The shoulder seam is extremely odd. It's like they were trying to make it less obvious or "seamless." Instead, it fits strangely and sticks out even more. I like the prior version where you can actually see thread in the seam. I could wear this old version with jeans or khaki shorts as well. With the new seam, this shirt is definitely just a workout shirt. Nothing more.
Also, the shirt has gotten smaller and tighter. Stop trying to recreate these and just go with the prior version which you still have on your website. That version was much, much better. I regret that I already took the tags off or I would send you back the shirts I just purchased.

Shame on you Under Armour!
Don?t buy this inferior garbage. I?ve been a customer for years and have hung with UA through all of their illogical decisions; primarily constantly changing the fit and cut of their Tech shirts. I ordered 6 shirts to replace an aging stash and what arrived in the mail today was pure trash. The material is horrible...it?s thin, cut strangely, small in some places and loose in others, and is NOTHING like the shirts I currently own. Seems like UA has sold their soul and have taken the cheap way out. My current shirts were made in Mexico and are great, but the new style that I arrived were made in Nicaragua and are of such poor quality that they?re unwearable.
The worst part of this whole cluster was trying to deal with ?customer service.? Good god, I wanted to hang myself after two minutes of trying to communicate with their outsourced call-center people. I asked for a supervisor, but was told there wasn?t one available. I said I would wait for one and was given the run-around again. I hung up and called back and got a somewhat better rep in that she spoke English slightly better than the first one. However, I was once again told that no supervisor was available to speak with. Clearly, they?ve built that into the script that all of their Filipino call center workers follow. It?s ridiculous and the fact that UA would treat their customers like this is insulting. I?m returning my order and never buying their products again. What a joke you?ve turned into Under Armour (and please spare everyone the condescending canned response that you?re sorry I wasn?t happy with my experience or some other non-sense. You guys suck now. Bring back some quality control or get out of the business).

Made In China
It used to be that UA items were made in Vietnam & Mexico. Then I noticed Indonesia, which BTW, the fabric on t-shirts seems thinner & more wrinkly.
Lately I'm seeing Made in China and the sizes appear made smaller. Usually, I wear MEDIUM on UA zipped sweaters. I tried the Made in China one and it was too tight & small on me. I ended up buying a LARGE.

Inferior to older shirt
They changed the fit, material and lowered quality. Neck opening now fits loose and is scratchy, overall fit is tighter, narrow and long even though described as "loose"...not. Pure garbage compared to the old shirt. I have bought dozens of the old shirt but will now have to look elsewhere for replacement. Shame on UA for sacrificing quality. I'm done with 'em.

(Literally half the quality they used to be
I ordered three of these shirts and returned all three. I don?t know why I keep doing this to myself. Ten years ago, these shirts were super comfortable and good quality. I still have some of them even after wearing them to the gym multiple times per week. Now, you can hold a shirt up and see through the front of the shirt, through the back of the shirt, right to whatever is on the other side. These are such poor quality that I?m switching back to a different brand.

Favorite ?T? truned to crap
The original UA LOOSE FIT ?T?-Shirt was hands down the best on the market. But UA decided to ?improve?it and use the less popular raglan sleeve. Like the name implies it?s a ?Rag.? The fit sucks too. Poor stretch so harder to get over head.

Hole in Shirt after 1 wear
Huge drop in quality; shirt already has a hole in it after wearing one time. Would have reached out to UA first, but they didn't even respond to my last inquiry over a bad article of clothing I purchased. Quality standards used to be much higher.

material not like it use to be
I recently bought 2 of these shirt in academy blue and cinna red. Both very thin and slightly smaller than before (tight fit). I love UA bought quite a few shirts and shoes. all my shirts fit well and comfy. But this time around very disappointing. Hope they bring back the better quality material.

Leave Well enough Alone
Without long detail, the fit, seams and fabric haave changed since my last purchase. They are not as loose, and the see through fabric shows that UA is looking to appeal to the younger generation. i have been wearing these for nearly 20,years. .I got 3 shirts the other day on sale from a retail department store, and they went back that morning. TIME TO LOOK FOR SOMETHING NEW AFTER ALmOST 20 YEARS
