The fit is true to size. My son is 5'9" and the x-large fits him very well. It is a little loose when wearing only a base layer, but with a mid layer the jacket fits perfect. During our trip this weekend, the weather was quite nice (~35-40 degree F). With only the base layer my son felt comfortably warm. The jacket itself has taped seams, and waterproofing all around. Along with the powder skirt, he stayed dry on the slopes. The under arm vents really helped cool him down when it was too hot.
The one thing that we did not like about this jacket though are the side pockets. The opening is way too big, and it would have been better if they closed down, rather than up. The length of the zipper, along with the upward closure, makes it awkward to close.
However, that is only a minor gripe, as the rest of the jacket is amazing.
