Not the same as the Men's Hedgehog 2 Mid Waterproof boots
I ordered the Hedgehog 3 Mid because I have been wearing Hedgehogs since it originally debuted and went through the original and the 2nd iteration. I walk about 35 - 50 miles a week in these shoes on concrete, asphalt, trails, and rocks in a variety of weather conditions. I have had to replace the shoes about every 4 months (600 - 700 miles?).
These shoes do look better than the previous version and it appears that either North Face has created their own sole, or Vibram is letting them brand the sole as North Face (the Vibram label is gone).
The drawback to this shoe is that compared to the first and second iterations, this shoe is stiffer, has a narrower toe box, and a less durable sole. The heel counter and ankle riser are much stiffer and gave me a huge blister on the lateral achilles the first time I wore them. THESE SHOES REQUIRE A BREAK-IN that the other iterations did not. With the narrower toe box, I cannot vary my sock thickness for the weather conditions. Lastly, I have been wearing these shoes for about a month (200 miles?) and the sole is already worn down on the heel.
I kept them because I had ordered on-line and am lazy about returning items. I also thought they would break in and be more comfortable, but . . .
In summary, because of the narrower toe box but the right length. I cannot purchase these shoes anymore.

Frustrating process
Shes were too tight despite following size guide, north face would not do an online exchange after I got no response when trying to call in to their Washington Square location to get the right size in person. Now I'm back to square one without any boots whatsoever. Boo hoo.

Man discovers the finest shoe that has ever dothed his feet.
For awhile, I was going in for those trail runners. Actual runners; the very front of the shoe toes up. When I put these on for the first time, I realized that all of the runners I had, used a slightly smaller toe box. I suppose it did not bother me all that much but, what a world of difference. Letting my toes have some room to squirm. I do live a pretty active lifestyle with lots of walking and hiking. I believe these shoes to actually be waterproof. I have walked in deep snow, in puddles 3 inches deep, in driving rain. Most manufacturers make claims, but they delivered. I am almost aghast.

I will keep buying the ultra series. Love them.
Incredibly comfortable. Lightweight with plenty of room in the toe box. My third pair of ultras and I am hooked.

I recommend these boots and would buy again!
These are great boots! I used them up while up north in the rain and my feet were dry and toasty. These boots are very comfortable and provide great stability and support on various terrains.

Still trying to find a good fit but love the look and qualit
Love the look and quality but still having problems. I got a 1/2 size bigger but the right foot is still not right. My toe goes to sleep if I'm not moving around. Maybe a little too narrow.
However I will keep them as am traveling for the winter.
Thank you for your support.

Versatile & Comfy
Loving my Ultra 112's for both the trail and around town. Getting lots of compliments on them. They feel a little wider than some of my other North Face shoes, which makes them comfortable to wear all day!
