Great shoe but need reinforced eyelets
Bought this shoe for hiking after a great experience with xt6's. The fit is perfect strong, durable and grippy sole but unfortunately the eyelets couldn't handle the speed laces when I tighten them and broke on both shoes after only 5 days of hiking. All they need is a plastic bit inside the eyelet (just like the xt6's) and they'd be perfect.

Where's the mesh?
I have been trying to replace my X-Ultra 3's for years without much luck. I found the 4's not cushy enough so I thought I'd try these. Right away you can see the mesh has been replaced with straight fabric, which is odd because breathability is key in a non-waterproof hiker. I've attached a photo of the 3's, 4's and the new 360 so you can compare. Time will tell if they breathe at all. I will review again once I've worn them.

Bring back x ultra 3
I have always loved salomon shoes. But everyone is saying the same thing. And they are right. The x ultra 3 was the perfect hiking shoe. Bring back that exact shoe. And advertise it. EVERYONE WILL BUY IT!

Uncomfortable and low quality
I've worn Salomon shoes and boots in many styles for years with great results but these shoes lack support, comfort and aesthetic appeal. The footbeds are thin and flimsy and they lack cushioning. The shoe itself appears to lack padding and support and they look like wide clown shoes. It seems that Salomon is starting to cut corners and cost but not prices. Look elsewhere when it comes to these shoes.

Lighter weight for lighter usage
I am a big fan of the X Ultra Gor-tex mid and low top, I thought I would try this as it seems to be in the same family. While it fits well, its definitely not the same support as the X Ultra GTX. It has a little less confidence that you can feel, if you were to step on uneven ground. Again, it's a good shoe, for more stable/flat terrain. But I like to not have to worry about that and to be able to go wherever, whenever I need to.

Elixir Activ Mid Go
Received these as an exchange. A really lightweight shoe, great stability, a shoe that despite its lightness feels like it won't let you down.

The Quicklace system is NOT GOOD
The recent Quicklace lacing system is poor choice and unfortunately destroys both shoes pretty quick in normal wear. I have already wasted a few pairs of Salomon shoes because of it. The thin synthetic lace string on the top front(above the tows) of the shoe simply rubs off the fabric under it. It creates a long abrasion which soon becomes a hole and thus slices the fabric like a saw. These two materials do not do well one onto of the other. Please change it or offer the shoe with normal or redesigned show laces! Thank you.

Not like they used to be
I have been wearing my X-Ultra 3 for years, into tattered threads and cannot find a replacement. I found the X-Ultra 4 not cushy enough, and the XA Pro 3D V9 too loose. These are not terrible on cushioning, but they don't breathe at all on hot days and my foot kept sliding forward downhill. Won't be keeping them.

Perfect for hiking and camping
Very comfortable, sharp looking and stable shoe. Good toe protection.
