Best shoes for my needs
I have had foot trouble recently---pain, especially on the ball of my foot and along the outside edge---and have tried countless shoes on to find something to help. There is such a fine line between too much cushion (and too flexible) and not enough; these things are virtually perfect. They also do not have an overly dramatic "fall-off" at the front.

The funny thing is that I got to try them on about a week ago by mistake; the store associate brought them out before they were to be released to the public (he didn't realize it at first). After I tried them on and said I liked them, they said they couldn't sell them to me, so I went home and immediately preordered them.

I am not a runner, but shoes like this are the only thing that give me what I need. The problem is that "fine line" I mentioned above. Somehow, Asics nailed it. Thanks!

Great upgraded shoe
I am a foot and ankle surgeon and am very in tune with shoe design. ASICS did a great job redesigning this shoe. The 8mm heel drop and cloud cushioning makes this a top shoe on the market not only for runners but for anyone on their feet a lot or with foot problems. This is especially great for plantar fasciitis. I have previously recommended only HOKA shoes to my patients for these reasons and now ASICS has a great shoe for all foot pathology. Easy to accommodate orthotics and great design. I now recommend this shoe to all my patients

STAY AWAY
I purchased these with the intention to become my new running shoes. There is a loop near the heal that creates sever discomfort and blisters throughout your runs. No matter if you wear thick socks and band aids. I've never had to leave a bad review on a product in my life until I came across these shoes.. they are that bad

Great Cushioned Shoe But Runs Hot For Me
I was in search for a highly cushioned running shoe and it was down to Asics Gel-Nimbus 25 or 26 and another brand name shoe. I tried the Gel-Nimbus 25 at my local sporting good's store and it was really soft and plush. It felt like butter and your feet just sink in with every step. I knew that the Nimbus 26 was going to be released in a couple of weeks so I waited. The difference I felt once I tried the Nimbus 26 is that the midsole was noticeably firmer and its stack height increased. The firmer midsole may be a con for some people but I actually like it because it allows me to pick up the pace a bit when running. Midsoles that are too soft and plush actually make the bottoms of my feet ache and hurt after a run. The upper knit material locks my foot in place. No issues with heel slips. The insoles are also very comfortable and soft and are memory-foam like. The only reason why I gave the Gel Nimbus-26 4 out of 5 stars is because my feet felt hot every time I ran in them. I tried wearing different socks but it still felt hot. If it were more breathable this would be the perfect shoe for me!

Poor quality
Weeks later the sole is falling apart. The mesh is also too thin, I can already see tear. I doubt this shoe will last 6 months.

Best Kayano yet; but, also the ugliest!!!
Although these Asics are the ugliest shoe Asics may have ever produced, they are the most comfortable pair of Asics Kayano's I have owned (and, I have been buying Kayano's since 2006 - I believe they were Kayano 7's). I received the shoes 2 days before leaving for Europe on a 16-day trip that included walking 216,936 steps and 375 flights of stairs according to my Apple iPhone. I took no other shoe along. I had no sore points, my feet were happy every day. These Kayano 30's are the best design for a stable platform too. I only mis-stepped once and that was on the crazy cobblestone plaza/streets of Munich, Germany.

Mr
The thick elastic holding the tongue in place is extremely uncomfortable. It digs into the side of my foot. Really bad design.

Absolutely ruined this shoe comparison to the Nimbus 25!!!
The toe feels like you are jabbing the ground as you run .
This is supposed to be a mid foot strike comfortable shoe for long distance and the new 26 is absolutely not that . Don't waste your money if you think this is the same shoe and purchase the 25 at a discount
