Not as good as the Sawtooth II
I own both the low and mid, waterproof and non-waterproof versions of the Sawtooth II. The Sawtooth II required not breaking in, and are comfortable and supportive during long hikes. The Sawtooth X hurt the arches on my feet after using them in a hike last week. The construction is also not the same. Corners were cut in design - no lace tabs for example. Why change an excellent product to make it worse?

Not the same?
I have had three pairs of the Sawtooth?this pair is different and I'm afraid does not fit the same and not as comfortable. Wondering why you would change a shoe that was so popular?

Please go back to the old sawtooth
Absolutely love my old sawtooths and thought I would never buy anything else. Unfortunately the X is extraordinarily uncomfortable, I have been trying to "break them in" for three months now and keep ending up with blisters, numb toes, and foot cramps on even very short/flat walks. Very disappointing.

Sad about the update
I've been wearing Sawtooths for a while, and the X is much stiffer and less comfortable than previous models. I really wish the older version was still available.

Bring back the old model
I've purchased 3 pairs of Oboz Sawtooth hiking shoes over the past few years and I loved them so much. When I went to buy a new pair this year, I realized Oboz changed the make of their Sawtooth shoes (which is this new Sawtooth X model). The new model just doesn't work for me. It feels completely different. I can't get the ankle as tight, the shoe feels longer and clunkier, and my heel feels like it's going to slip out. I'm so sad because I wanted to love these. The shoes feel well made, but they're not for me.

Perfect hiking shoes!
Really enjoying these hiking shoes, they are very robust and I've had a great experience so far when wearing them on hikes.

Please bring back the old Sawtooth!
I have had several pairs of the Sawtooth and Sawtooth II. Love the ventilation and the wider toes and narrower heel. Why change a great thing? Now I find myself looking at other brands to get the great fit and breathability that I always got from the Sawtooth.

Miss the old model
I lost my previous pair of Sawtooth X - they were the most perfect hiking boots I had ever owned. Light, waterproof, and a perfect fit. So comfortable This updated model feels tighter around the toe box, they run hotter, and they hit a little higher on the ankle, digging in as I hike on angles. After three days strenuous hiking in Yosemite I have decided to keep them, but I sure do miss the older model.

Disappointed
I have worn Merrell footwear for years. I walk and/or hike everyday with my dog. I thought I would try these as the reviews were positive. I don't typically write reviews, good or bad, but I felt compelled to share my disappointment in these shoes. They gave me a blister from day 1, which I'm willing to deal with, however, I have been wearing these shoes with a small bandaid to alleviate the discomfort, hoping to ride it out, eventually breaking them in and enjoying what y'all are raving about. It's been just over 3 weeks and I am still suffering from blisters with these shoes. These are definitely the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever purchased. I am sorry I spent the money I did on an alternate brand. I will purchase from my ever reliable Merrell going forward. Very disappointing !

All great?except?
The toe protector on both boots has mostly separated from the boot. I am trying gorilla glue to see if it holds.
Comfort and support is fabulous. I also have the lows. Not so great. They are weirdly stiff. No flex. I called before I ordered and was assured they were the same boot. They are not.
