First pair I have owned
I needed some new hiking boots and I wasn't that happy with my previous pair. However my husband was on his second pair of Keen's so I decided to try them. I have only worn them on a couple of relatively short hikes so far but they fit great and no need to break in. I ordered an 8.5 but usually wear 8's.

Perfect!!!
I love these hiking boots! I'm often between sizes, so I ordered 7.5 & 8 in both Targhee 2 and Targhee 3. I tried the Targhee 2's first (in the 7.5, the 8's were too big). They were very comfortable but just too wide for my medium width foot. Next I tried the Targhee 3 in 7.5 which fit perfectly. They are not as wide as the older Targhee 2's but still accommodate the bunion on my foot. They are incredibly supportive and feel so good on my feet; no break-in required. I haven't worn hiking boots in years - just been walking the dog in rubber boots - but these hiking boots are wonderful and have really enhanced my walks. I'm not an exercise-loving person but I do look forward to putting these on and going for a nice walk. I usually walk 2-3 miles through fields, hills and woods and have found these boots to be the perfect fit. They are easy to lace up, the laces stay put, and are just right for double knots (though not necessary). I stood in a creek and have walked in the pouring rain and they are completely waterproof. I've walked in mud and a bit of snow and they feel very secure. I really like the ankle support; not stiff, just right.
If you have a wide foot, I'd recommend the older Targhee 2's. If you have a medium width foot, I'd recommend these wonderful Targhee 3's. I'm so happy I took a chance and purchased these... just wish I had thought to order them on Cyber Monday when they were on sale instead of the week before!

Too Narrow
I bought these after my Targhee II pair fell apart after 4 months of daily hiking. Thought they would be good and maybe stay together a little longer but after trying them out on a walk my feet were killing me. I have a wide foot and these are definitely not as wide as the Targhee II.

quality and fit
The jury is still out on my new Targhee III boots, I have been a fan of Keens for years, buying and enjoying many hiking boots and sandals, primarily for the perfect fit. Though I ordered the same size, this pair seems to have a wider toe box, and also a thinner/flimsier insole. I believe I may have overcome this issue by buying beefier Oboz insoles to aid the fit. I am concerned at the decreasing quality of Keens as they have become more popular. My last pair of Targhee II's wore out much faster, particularly the soles and the rubber adhesive, than previous pairs. The reason I picked the III's this time is that the soles look like they may be more durable, and I hope that's the case.
I haven't had a chance to test the waterproof qualities, as UT has been quite dry this year. The upcoming winter should give me an opportunity to assess that aspect.

Love these!
Fit true to my size. I needed wide but took a chance and they fit perfectly. Toe box has room, shoe not short at all. Love the style, the support, the fit, and non slip on surfaces. Good all year round boot. Will order again and would recommend! So happy with these.

Women's Targhee III waterproof Mid
Loved the color and appearance. The boot was too small. I normally wear Keen size 8.5, but these were not true to size.

Poor grip, and bad design breaches "waterproof"-ness
The only good thing to be said about these boots is that they are comfortable.
Serious downside is total lack of grip in the wet. Really poor, especially for the price. More corner-cutting in the design: no proper gusset on tongue plus laces slip so tongue doesn't stay in place. My £30 safety boots are put together better than this.
Keen - you are destroying your reputation here, sort it out.

Excellent walking boot
I like this boot a lot. It fits well, walks comfortably, and gives my feet the support I need. It's light weight, which adds to Its comfort.
