Not sure how these are cycling specific
I suppose you could use these for cycling, but there is nothing about the design or cut that makes them cycling specific. I hoped they had a removable wool cycle short with a chamois liner and this sporty short of questionable cycling use, but probably a reasonable hiking/casual short over the top. But nope, it's just a pair of non-wool shorts. No liner, no high rise in the back for extra coverage, no well designed seamless crotch or reinforced gusset. Just marketing. A real disappointment

Top quality shorts
These shorts are great for hiking, walking, any casual wear situation. The problem for me is that I am in-between sizes. I normally wear size 12. These shorts come in S, M & L. First I got the large and they are usable, but are really too roomy on me. I then ordered the medium and they were so small I couldn't even zip them up, so I sent them back.

Very nice but...
I'm 5'4", # 115. I first bought size small. They are loose, drapey, hang on my hips. I also tried XS which is too snug since they have little stretch; returned. Merino only in the waistband.

comfortable but baggy with less than functional pockets
Comfortable but runs large. I'm a size 12, and these can slide off my hips if I don't have the drawstring tied tight enough. Also, the pockets are less useful because they're either zipped and not useable, or unzipped and gaping open unattractively. The material is lightweight and stretchy, which is nice.

The Shorts I have been looking for!
These are the shorts I've been looking for! Lightweight, but they hold their shape. Perfect length - not too short. Comfortable - good fit. I got these in "Sparrow" - I love the color! I would buy these again, especially if there are other color choices - like khaki or slate grey.

I would not buy this product again
I purchased 5 pairs of these shorts last year and I loved them. This year I purchased 3 more to take on a trip and the sizing was way off for the exact same short as last year. The waist is 1 inch smaller and the slight elastic that was in last year's shorts is not there. One of the other pairs I was sent was worse. What have you done to the shorts that I love? So sad for a product that cost $70 each. I'm so disappointed.

Best hiking shorts
I love these shorts for hiking especially in hot weather. Light, breathes well, super comfortable.
