I wear a 33" waist in my other styles of Kuhl Shorts and pants. I had to go to 34" in this style.

I own two Kuhl pants both in size 31, but I looked at the reviews for the Shift Amphibia short and decided to size up to 32. They fit pretty well but I could definitely go up to a 33 especially with the hidden drawstring and still be fine. I'm 6'0" and went with 10" inseam and they ride above the kneecap but definitely climb the thigh when sitting. They are also closer fitting to the thigh than other chino style shorts I've owned (non-Kuhl).

The cut for the Kuhl Amfib short is way off.....I have a 1/2 dozen different pants from Kuhl and one pair of shorts. They are all waste 34" and fit perfectly.

Naturally, I ordered the Amfib in 34" as your fit guide says they are true to fit (regular). They are not trued to fit and the 34" fit like a 32" waste and the thighs are skin tight. This isn't even an "athletic fit" this is a very slender fit design. If you intend for a regular fit, then check the sourced mfg. because the sizing is way off Vs your other garments. (Perhaps I received a mislabeled unit as I see other comments describving the fit as expected - I reviewed the comments before I ordered)

I ordered the SILENCR and the AMPHIBIAN shorts. I love the sleak design, the elegant look. These dress up or down pretty easy. I am 5,10" and a fit 185-188 lbs and am size 32 waist in Joe's Jeans with room to spare. With the Kuhl shorts, though, I am size 34. It took two returns to figure that out. If you plan on wearing the shorts and don't want any muffin top, order up in size. For me, that was 2 sizes. But now that I'm dialed in, these are my favorite shorts.

Very comfortable for work and hikes. Pants have air vents and lots of pockets on shorts and pants

Fabric seems different, fit is tighter than normal, side pockets are smaller

Only shorts I wear, chunked all the other brands.

Awesome short! Comfortable and great fabric.

I have purchased numerous Kuhl shorts over the years and they are great.
