Like it but next time starting with lower priced brand
I am a long time fan of The North Face since the 80's. I have many fleece jackets and down jackets, a sleeping bag, shirts, shoes and have been happy with virtually all of them, even as I have seen the original high prices climb towards the stratosphere in recent years. I had my original fleece NF jacket for over 30+ years - it was fanastic, great for the cold computer rooms of Silcon Valley or hiking local trails.

These Polartec pants are pretty warm and comfortable. So far the belt does not slip so I do not have to keep tightening it over and over. That is the good part. I am wondering if that will happen in the future as most of the cinches like this in my experience eventually slip. I have my criticisms of this product as well, but rather than return and buy over and over I decided to keep my NF Polartec pants to avoid the hassle, not because I am in love with them, as the 2/5 rating would indicate, but to avoid the hassle. I think they are good, but over-priced.

For a lower prices other brands of thermal pants seeem just as good and have more features, like zippers on their pockets. Other brands have more and more subtle colors too. The green of my Polartec Pants is very bright, brighter than the product photo indicated. I would prefer a less saturated more adult shade and with many North Face products I always feel like it is a choice between buying black or buying clown colors.

I would tell my friends about this, but I am not sure I would recommend it. I'd relate my opinion and suggest they try another brand and if it doesn't work go for North Face mostly because of the prices.

Descripción says woman's alpine ??????
This pair is different, looks really great and feels amazing, I do feel a breeze coming from the bottom of the pants so not fully protected but feels great, just unsure now if it's a woman's pants ?????

Good and bad. Must fix pocket zipper issue.
I use these pants as the insulating layer between base layer and ski bibs. Upsides : They are an excellent insulating layer. They keep my lower half plenty warm on the ski hill. Belt around waste means no need to rely on elastic to keep pants up. Zippers on pockets means contents stay put. Downsides : Belt around waste means there should be a zipper fly for restroom usage. Having to undo belt is inconvenient. Also, there's a piece of material that covers pocket zippers. This material gets caught in the zipper almost every time zippers are used. VERY frustrating. This is my biggest issue.

Warmest fleece pants I've ever worn.
Extremely warm fleece pants. Not crazy about the elastic cuffs at the bottom of each leg. Would prefer that they were open.

Great Cold Weather Pants
Super warm and comfy for the cold weather in Illinois. The fit is a perfect size medium and is extremely soft. I highly recommend these pants for cold weather environments. As always, North Face is top tier quality and I expect these pants to last for years to come.

Solid insulation
I wear these under my ski pants.
They're great. Nice fit. The pockets are nice - and useful if wearing the pants around the house. The waist adjustment works fine.
Over the course of a season, they've held up well to wearing and washings.

Comfortable warm pants
I bought these pants for the cold season backpacking trips. Even though I haven't went yet I did use them during a cold wave we've had and I'm very impressed. Paired with some base layers the pants kept me warm and comfortable. They're a bit too baggy for my liking but I care much more about function than presentation. After testing them around town I'm comfortable bringing them for an overnight winter backpacking trip.

Fan of TNF since 1980's, will return, over-priced, 2/5
Color too bright, not thyme, just green. Size, material, good, but no zip on hip pockets. Belt sewn into place, does not detach or move, no belt loops. Warm, but do not feel wind-proof. No zip on shallow back pocket either. Disappointed.

Why did you choose this?

Quality polartec fleece. Love this aqua marine color. North Face is a plus. Twenty percent off the item was the reason I bought from sun&ski.
