Super warm and fashionable. Needed a new down jacket after 3 years and this green color goes with everything, and the jacket is super warm. Bought it in Portland for these cold months and stoked on it

Love everything about it!
I live in the Western mountains of Maine beside the White Mountain National Forest. We get spooky weather here. It was a brittle -10° when I got up at 0530. I threw my Expedition Pack Down Hoodie on over just a merino wool base layer. Something I wear 24/7 in the winter here. I was quite comfortable outside. I'm not going to lie, my face stung from the cold. A quick pull, a tug or two here and there and voila! Now it was tolerable which is enough! I'm 69. I've been through a few jackets in my lifetime. I can tell within 5 minutes whether a jacket will do the job and stand up to wear. This was a treat to myself. I have gone through so many winters with barely adequate clothing. This year I finally figured out how to dress. This jacket is superb. It handled some rather high wind the other day better than I expected. I HATE feeling that cold wind blow right through a jacket! Look, I found myself just wanting to go for a walk the other day just so I could wear it! I love the length in the back. Not keeping your butt covered is asking for trouble! Love the arm length which SHOULD be a tad longer than normal to ensure no "pull up" around your wrists. Love way you can pull this jacket around your body. Everything is adjusted just for me! Any jacket like this really shines with proper layer material. It's no secret but, just go with wool. Period. A wool base layer (I go with the thickest I can find) is the key. I quite often wear just my wool base layer for a shirt.
Job well done Fjallraven!

A superb parka for cold, wet weather
I have now been through one full year with my Nuuk parka. It is truly amazing. Extremely high quality, truly waterproof, yet not too heavy. Extremely warm. I sometimes forego gloves and just use the parka's lined hand pockets. The hood is very adjustable with the wire frame. Very well-designed pockets, and lots of them external and internal. I sometimes forget which pocket I used for something.
So, the zipper. I have gotten used to it but getting the zipper inserted and started can be a challenge, especially in low light. I do wish it was easier. Nonetheless, this parka is about as close to perfect as I have ever seen. Very highly recommended.
I am considering also getting the Nuuk Lite for its similar build quality and features, to use when it is the temperatures are too high to use the Nuuk.

The Parka was exactly as advertised. Seems well constructed and ready for winter.
Shop this coat well! Some places sell it for a lot more. Sun and Ski had for less, then reduced it more when it went on sale a week after my purchase. No problem or hassle.

Very good coat, but the Hood is annoying
I received this coat as a Christmas present, and overall, I really like it. I'd give it 5 stars, but the lining of the hood is really annoying. First the positives.
The coat is very well made, and will keep you warm and dry. I'd say it needs a good mid layer under 20 F. It looks good and has plenty of pockets. I've worn it in pretty dry, cold weather, but it performed well in one nasty, heavy Winter Storm with a lot of flurries I got caught in. This brings us to the hood.
The fur trim is excellent, it keeps snow out, and when the hood is down, it lightly touches my ears for extra warmth. This might be unique to me. The hood itself has solid insulation. Maybe it could have a little more, but it is solid. The lining is nice too.
What I don't like is the lining comes out whenever you pull the hood off. You always have to push it back in when you take the hood off. This feels poorly constructed/designed to me, and honestly feels kind of cheap. Especially since the rest of the coat is well made. Overall the hood does its job when zipped up, but it does have this really annoying issue.
The zipper can be tricky at first, but it's easy to get used to. The collar covers the lower part of your chin and has a comfortable interior lining for the chin.
This coat is a 4.5 for me. The zipper isn't an issue as it is for some, but I don't like the issue with the hood. Overall, I think most people will be happy with this coat and I do recommend it.

I bought it at REI a few months ago. I had been using puffy down jackets as a winter coat for years, but then I bought this jacket and it has changed my life. Yes, it is that good. So warm!. I am 6'2" and weight 160 and the medium is perfect. And it has 13 pockets!!

Genuinely incredible piece of kit
I actually have no complaints about a product for once. It's my go to for extreme cold, and it's served me well in temps as low as -40°. You can wear *heavy* layers underneath this thing and it doesn't feel cumbersome. The wind and water resistance is excellent, and adaptable with waxing. The fur lined does a very good job keeping wind and ice out my eyes. Again, no notes. In my opinion, it's a must have if you're serious about exploring the colder parts of earth.

Disappointing for the price
I have the Expedition Parka and love the design and warmth of the coat. Wanted something a little warmer for extremely cold, Chicago winter days. I'm a bit disappointed by the warmth of this coat. The arms seem like they have a thinner layer of material in them and I can really feel it in colder weather. I feel like the expedition parka is warmer in the arms. The upper back portion of this also seems to be a bit thin as well. I was getting chills walking my dog in 20 degree weather. The faux fur also tends to get in your eyes and if you take it off the hood its really awkward, and doesn't look right since there is a wire in it. It's kind of hard to believe they charge over $500 for this coat. Luckily I got it on sale for $350. Kind of wish I would of gone for the North Face......

I love this coat. It's incredibly warm for walking my husky, and it blocks the wind well. Although the dog hair tends to stick to it which I wasn't expecting. I thought I was going crazy about the zipper thing until I read the reviews on here. I had trouble for about a month. I thought it was broken, but then sometimes it would zip right up.

Amazing coat - best I've owned
I needed a new winter parka, and was looking for one that would be great for daily use as well as being reasonable to pull on over a suit jacket when I have to make winter trips to the college campus in New England where I work. I tried several, and once I had tried the Nuuk, everything else seemed like a compromise. Being American, I'm used to right-handed zippers, so the left-side / European zipper took a bit of getting accustomed, but I was past that in a couple of days, and now it's as easy as any other coat zipper I have. The coat itself is near perfect. Super comfortable, roomy but fits nicely and looks great. I love that I can pull it on over a T-shirt when it's 5 degrees F outside with wind chill well below that and be perfectly comfortable. SO many pockets, and all are very functional. Rain proof, wind proof, tough yet comfortably flexible fabric. Love the hood, and I've kept the fake fur ruff on as it traps warmth around the face. Love this coat and recommend it without hesitation.

Price and on sale
I needed this for a trip to Norway where it's currently snowing + raining. I'm normally a large in Fjallraven jackets but the Large Nuuk was wayy too big (chest, arms, length). Trying the medium in…
