I used to have a Garmin Fenix ??6s and it was getting uncomfortable on my wrist, the nylon strap made it a little easier to wear but it still wasn't a good solution (even if I loved my watches). So I was looking for a lighter, more comfortable Garmin model to wear. I prefer running and working out in the gym so the Forerunner is great for that. I chose the 955 over the newer model because I really liked the screen on the Fenix ??which is visible in different lighting conditions and doesn't need to be constantly backlit. New features for me are the touchscreen, the Spotify app (I can run without my phone), the morning review and lots of new stats that help me understand my body. I find myself exercising and staying active with my new Forerunner 955 more than I did before and it really pushes me to achieve new goals.

I bought it a month ago only for my workouts. I love how all German devices connect and gives me a all the information about my workouts

Great watch, for the most part.
Though I'm still learning the ins and outs of the Forerunner 965(having just switched from a COROS Apex Pro), I'm really happy with the functions and features. Place where the Garmin doesn't hold up compared to the COROS is the Gorilla Glass lens. I had the COROS with a sapphire glass lens for almost 3 years of tough use without a single scratch. My Forerunner on the other hand already has a couple of tiny scratches from just working in the garden.

Upgrade from the Delorme InReach SE. The Mini 2 is faster and interfaces better with my iPhone.

My wife and son in law love it because I can check in when I am in the back country on my horses

I am use to Apple Watches. Hard to use features. Doesn't have good directions on operating watch. And wasn't shown how to use watch when I purchased it

Plenty of information and uses.
I bought the 955 for the features - I road race and triathlon so the watch is a valuable tool. Having issues playing music on the watch.

took this out on the Foothills trail. Messaged would not send. Or took over an hour if it did at all. Battery only lasted for 2 1/2 days. Not 7-10 as expected.

After using the watch for about 3 weeks there is plenty of good things AND disappointing things I noticed. For the most part, its great at what it is for and its clearly running and cardio focused, but it is really lacking in its gym functions. Currently my 2 big gripes is 1.) when inputting your lifted weights after a set, you need to scroll to get to the number whereas it is much easier in my wife's Venu 3s which uses a number pad instead. This should be very easy to implement on this watch with a bigger screen. Secondly and most important is the fact that inputting the weight after your set is basically useless since if you check the workout when it is done, you'll notice that all the numbers are wrong and seemingly random. I need to go into the workout afterwards and edit it every time. To end on a good note, I am very impressed at the watches ability to predict the gym exercise when working out without a plan and just doing different sets. It's clearly not 100% accurate but pretty darn good.

Great, but too complicated.
Does what I wanted, but I don't know what half the readings mean. Manual is over 100 pages long. After a couple weeks I can get it to do what I need. Other features are fine, maybe some day I'll figure them out.
